A cross-linguistic look at modality and evidentiality in European languages

Kalbotyra (ISSN 1392–1517) invites submission of papers for a special issue on Modality and Evidentiality to be published in 2016. The special issue aims to collect contributions addressing current theoretical and empirical approaches to modality and evidentiality in European languages. The focus of the special issue is on the conceptual domain of epistemicity (evidentiality and epistemic modality) and its grammatical and lexical realizations in language; however, papers on other types of modality (for example, deontic or dynamic) are also invited. We welcome papers  that look at those types of modality from both language-specific and contrastive perspectives based on the analysis of corpus data; however, other empirical approaches are not excluded.

The language of papers submitted for publication is English.

Kalbotyra focuses on research addressing language-specific as well as cross-linguistic issues. The journal has been indexed in a number of international databases and directories. Full profile of the journal is available at http://www.journals.vu.lt/kalbotyra.
